Sylvia Cifelli, DPT
Dr. Sylvia Cifelli has been a NJ licensed physical therapist since 2005. She graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2005 with her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She then continued her studies at University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ where she received her Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy in 2009. Her specialties include the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic-related conditions, more specifically post-operative cases and chronic neck & back pain. She has obtained extensive orthopedic clinical experience working for Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ as well as New Jersey Spinal Care in Wayne, NJ. In 2012, she decided to open a family practice and founded Pro Health Physical Therapy alongside her mother, Theresa Cifelli, PT, her sister, Gabriella Cifelli, DPT, and husband, Ian Nunez, Exercise Physiologist.
Theresa graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1991, previously in 1983 she graduated from Essex County College with an associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. In her 43 years as a physical therapist she has worked primarily in the outpatient orthopedic setting treating a variety of orthopedic and sports related injuries with a strong focus on manual therapy. She has continued to gain extensive knowledge in these fields through numerous continuing education courses and conferences.
Gabriella Cifelli, DPT
Dr. Gabriella Cifelli is our newest physical therapist who graduated from Quinnipiac University’s doctorate program in Hamden, CT in 2012. She specializes in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation and is taking numerous continuing education courses to enhance her clinical skills. Gabriella is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and has been achieving positive outcomes with this new treatment method.
Ian Nunez, Exercise Physiologist
Ian graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in exercise physiology from William Paterson University in 2010. He began his career in corporate fitness from 2003-2007 as a fitness specialist and helped start the Union City Police Youth Fitness Program from 2008-2011. He truly has a passion for health and now uses his expertise to create unique and innovative fitness programs and therapeutic exercises for Pro Health.
